One of the funny things about trying to write something funny is you can’t. Or, at least, I can’t. But I do love to laugh and have fun and that is why I’m in Children’s ministry! (Okay, that and the chance to constantly carry a clipboard.)

I’m a big fan of little people and have been since I was one myself. I am trained as an educator, having taught at the preschool, elementary and graduate levels in both public school and Christian ministry. It is what God made me to do and I am grateful.

My work at Restoration has multiple layers. I get to care for children, nursery through 5th grade, then I get to love on their parents. I even get to shepherd and feed chocolate to the Sunday morning crew of Children’s Church small group leaders. It’s a great gig.

What I love even more are my husband and my daughter! I met Steve the first day I moved to Washington, D.C. We’ve been married nearly 18 years – a great example of love, forgiveness, grace, and mercy. Our daughter, Grace, is a blast to be around. She has taught me much about just “be”-ing. One of my favorite things to do is cuddle up on a couch with the two of them, a blanket, and some great books. I hope to someday have a passion for exercise, but until then, please pass the chocolate.
