Sunday Announcements – June 25, 2017

  1. Why in the world would you make a weekly, volunteer commitment for 10-months straight? Because we are a church of small groups — from our littlest kids to our adults. Talk to Louise about being a kids’ small group leader. louise@restorationarlington.org
  2. Summer Plans. We will continue the 5pm service through the month of July but then suspend the 5pm service from Aug 6th through September 3rd. The 9 and 11 am services will remain the same.
  3. Kids’ Small Groups Summer Style!  During the summer, we have preschool kids’ small groups @ 9 & 11, but our elementary-aged kids can grab a worship bag to use as they stay in the service. Nursery will be available @ 9 & 11.
  4. Interested in leading a Small Group?  Would you like to lead a Small Group? We are looking for new small group leaders for Fall 2017. If you are potentially interested in leading a group, please contact nathan@restorationarlington.org.
  5. Wednesday Lunchtime Eucharists are happening, and they will run through July (except July 5), 12:15pm to 1 in the sanctuary. Take a break at lunch mid-week to celebrate God’s goodness. Join us!
  6. Watermelon lovers wanted! Bring your kids (7+), your neighbors, & your small group to the Arlington Food Assistance Center (AFAC) this summer from July 9-August 27. We need your help picking up donated produce from CP farmer’s market & bagging it at AFAC. http://bit.ly/2rp2Lwt
  7. Music and Tech at Restoration:  Do you play an instrument and have a desire to help with music on Sundays?  Are you interested in the world of audio visual technology and interested in getting trained up?  Contact matt@restorationarlington.org.  He is building music teams and tech teams and would love for you to be a part of it. 
  8. RestoGoes to West Asia. A small team will be visiting our friends in West Asia in the fall (10/26-11/6) are you interested? Contact Liz for more details, liz@restorationarlington.org

  2. Apex Youth Ministry is happening tonight at 6:30pm for the middle schoolers. Curious about high school? Contact isaiah@restorationarlington.org.
  3. Women Unscripted: mature children celebrate! Come and join us for our final meeting of the year this Tues., June 20 at 7:30pm. We will celebrate and have a delightful time! Bring a friend!

  2. APEX “5th Grade Step UP”  Tonight Middle and High School APEX will host a special night in fellowship Hall for all current 5th graders! We will be welcoming and celebrating their transition to APEX from 6:30-8:00pm. It’s a chance to preview next year and have fun. See you there!

  4. Wounded by religion?  Come for a Healing Eucharist service Tues, June 13, 7.30pm in the sanctuary. This is a contemplative service with an opportunity for healing prayer. We will focus on healing from hurts from the church, but please come if you are seeking any kind of healing, or simply a quiet evening with God.
  5. Kathleen Cauley Seminar!  Are you interested on working on the relationships closest to you, your marriage, your kids? Kathleen Cauley, M.Ed., LMFT will present “How our family of origin affects our relationships today” at Restoration on June 14th @ 7pm.  Ask Kathy (kathy@restorationarlington.org) for childcare info, RSVP, and questions.

Sunday Announcements – June 4, 2017

  1. Let us welcome the newly baptized! Today we celebrate the baptisms of Henry William Singh, Charles Michael Singh, Samuel Christopher Belen (9am), Robert Hudson Cramer, Susanna Grace Cramer, Charles Wilson Tapp, and Frances Harrison Tapp (11am).  Please pray for them as they grow in their faith and love for Jesus.
  2. Congratulations to the Rev. Morgan Reed on his ordination to the Presbyterate at the 5pm worship service tonight!
  3. Middle School APEX will meet tonight at Rocklands BBQ. We will depart, as a group, from the lower Narthex at 6:45pm.  Parents can also drop their kids off at Rocklands at 7pm. Please arrange to pick your child up from Rocklands BBQ @ 8pm.
  4. Parish Meeting and RILA Info Night: The next Parish Meeting will be this Tues, June 6. There will be a fundraising dinner at 6:30pm hosted by the Bolivia team, followed by the meeting at 7:30pm. Childcare for those in 5th grade and below will be available. Please email Louise (louise@restorationarlington.org) to RSVP for childcare. 
  5. Mid-week lunchtime Eucharists re-start on Wed, June 7 and run through July (except July 5).  They run from 12:15pm to 1 in the sanctuary. Join us.
  6. Cherrydale Yard Sale. Step up to reach out to our neighbors by helping with the annual Cherrydale Yard Sale on June 10. Joe and Anna Whitehead will be hosting a table at Restoration as they offer refreshments to our neighbors as they pass by. Let Joe know if you can help serve!  joewhitehead@gmail.com

Nursery Coordinator: The part-time Nursery Coordinator will maintain a safe and welcoming nursery environment by overseeing nursery space, supplies, curriculum and staff (both paid and volunteer) with a goal of providing easily accessible opportunities for our children to grow as disciples of Jesus.  Contact Louise (louise@restorationarlington.org) if you are interested.
