Mac Wheatley

Restoration has been a wonderful gift to me and my wife Julie. We love the church family and have been blessed by new friendships. My faith in Christ started early by example of my parents, though it was my involvement with YWAM, a youth ministry, which served as the cornerstone for my personal journey. Since then, the Lord has instilled in me a passion for missions and the importance of intentional relationships. The desire to be involved with missions followed me to DC where I have led trips to Kenya, small groups and mentored youth. My heart feels called to live out the example Christ sets for the church in Acts—not a perfect church, but a church pursuing the right things.

Throughout my journey, God continues to merge my faith and professional life. In corporate banking, He has shown me new ways to use my vocation for His kingdom. He has opened doors for me to use my leadership skills to support the finance committee and Long Range Facility Team. My hope is to bring these gifts to the vestry as we navigate upcoming physical changes and other strategic decisions.

Especially through this season of growth, my prayer for Restoration is that we hold fast the truth of the Gospel, that we remain transparent, and that Christ is reflected in our relationships with each other and neighboring community. I pray we are a church that loves God and others—Spirit filled and moving toward the fulfillment of the Great Commission.
