Mary Breed

Growing up I went to church regularly. I thought going to church and serving at church made me a ‘good’ person. As a junior in high school, I noticed a flyer on the church bulletin board advertising an area-wide youth weekend. It looked interesting so I invited a friend to go with me and signed up. I heard the gospel message that weekend for the first time. I was amazed, broken, and overjoyed. My decision that weekend to follow Jesus changed the course of my life and caused me to seek out ways to grow in my faith.

In the years since then, believing in God has stretched and deepened my understanding of how to trust, how to forgive and how love and serve others.

Over 10 years ago, my husband, Logan, and I served on the team that helped plant Restoration. Logan is my very best friend and biggest encourager. We have four great kids ranging from 10-16 years old that keep our family in constant motion and make us cherish every family dinner. I am also a competitive cyclist and can be found riding my bike around town most days.

The Restoration community has become an extended family for us and our four children. We have formed many life-long friendships as well as sweet friendships with people who have moved out of the area. Throughout the past decade, I have had the opportunity to volunteer at Restoration in more than a dozen capacities which have helped me learn more about how the church works and how to love and serve others.

I am honored to serve on the vestry and feel called to listen to God and seek his guidance in leading Restoration into its second decade.
