RestoWomen: Weathering Transitions
I have always loved this prayer in Compline, the evening prayer service:
Be present, O merciful God, and protect us through the hours of this night, so that we who are wearied by the changes and chances of this life may rest in your eternal changelessness; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
By the end of the day, I’m wearied. The change and transitions of the day and of the season take their toll sometimes. But, there is a rest, a comfort, in the Lord’s steadfastness, his eternal changelessness. He’s the same yesterday, today and forever. That steadies me.
Let’s gather together Tuesday, Oct. 1, and share in one another’s stories of transition. Perhaps you’re anticipating one, perhaps you’re in one, or perhaps you’re reflecting back upon big changes that have taken place. Where has the Lord been in these changes? What has he shown you? Where are you hoping? Where have you changed? I’ll offer some introductory remarks, and then we’ll hear testimonies from some of our own RestoWomen. We’ll close with some personal reflection time. There will be snacks and time to just visit, too.
Hope you’ll join us!
Looking forward to being together again,
Beth
