Sunday Announcements – September 18, 2016

  1. Let us welcome the newly baptized! Today we celebrate the baptisms of Sophie-Louise Ruth Mohr, Roman Curtis Hoppe, Selah Ellen Hoppe, Silas Allen Hoppe (9am), Lynlee Louise Orth, Emma Elisabeth Montalto (11am), and Michael Downlin Forehand (5pm).  Please pray for them as they grow in their faith and love for Jesus.
  2. Small Group Registration is open online and on the app.  Go to restorationarlington.org and the registration link is on the bottom left side of the homepage.  Join one!  It’s what we do.
  3. Open House at the Hankes today from 1:30-3.  As the Hanke family returns from sabbatical, they would love to host folks from Restoration in their home.  Drop in this afternoon to say hi, see their home, and hear a story or two from their sabbatical adventure.  There are cards with a map and directions on where to park.
  4. After-Service Prayer Training: This afternoon from 1.30pm – 4pm: more details from Erica Chapman, chapman.erica@gmail.com  All welcome!
  5. APEX Youth Group. Are you a middle or high schooler who enjoys thrilling activities, a fun community, and a place where you can learn to grow into who God is calling you to be?  Then APEX is the place for you.  Starting today, join us every Sunday.  Middle school meets at 6:30 pm in the Fellowship Hall and High School will gather at 6:45 pm in the lower Narthex.  See you there, if you dare.
  6. Prayer Training: If you are interested in learning more about extended prayer opportunities at Restoration and how to pray for others when you have more time available, please join us for an Orientation to Extended Prayer on Sat, Sept 24 from 9 to 11 am in the Fellowship Hall.
  7. #RestoRetreat2016 Spots are filling fast, but it’s still not too late to reserve your place now for our annual church retreat in Massanetta Springs, Oct 14-16. Among the highlights include opportunities to hike and gather around a bonfire enjoying one another’s company while cooking yummy s’mores. Come make memories with us!   3. RestoArts Advent Planning today from 1:30-3:00.  People who call Restoration home and want to be a part of the liturgical arts formation for Advent are invited to come to this initial brainstorm meeting.  Bring your ideas!
