Sunday Announcements – December 4, 2016

  1. Restoration Annual Meeting for Vestry Election: The Restoration Annual Meeting closes today. The purpose of this meeting is to elect 4 new vestry members. Ballots will be available to members after each service.
  2. RestoMen. Join us on Tuesday, Dec. 6 for our next gathering. We begin at 7pm with a catered, light supper (Bring $5 to help cover the cost). At 7:30 pm we start the program, & end promptly @ 9pm. This month we’re talking about “Making Wise Decisions”
  3. Leading a Small Group? We are looking for new small group leaders for Winter 2017. If you are potentially interested in leading a group, please contact nathan@restorationarlington.org. The deadline to sign up is Dec 21, 2016.
  4. RestoMen Retreat.  Our annual Men’s retreat is coming Jan 13-14, 2017 at Meadowkirk Retreat Center in Middleburg,VA. Register by Dec 9 for Early Bird price ($65 for bunk room or $125 for inn room). Sign up on the Restoration App or website! 
  5. RestoWomen Retreat!  Women – sign up for the retreat now! Feb 10-12, 2017 http://restoration.formstack.com/forms/womens_retreat_registration_2017
  6. Navidad para Niños!  This Advent, join us to support our Bolivian partner, Niños con Valor. Beginning November 27, grab an ornament from the Christmas tree in the lower narthex that has a picture and name of one of the 38 children under NCV’s care to see how you can get involved.
  7. Adventy Fireside Chats: Carve out some quiet space to exercise the discipline of waiting. Each Thursday during Advent: Dec 1, 8, 15, 22, we’ll gather by the fire from 730-9 PM for guided reflection and prayer at Erica’s house: 3526 N Ohio St, Arlington Questions? Ask Erica: chapman.erica@gmail.com 
  8. RestoArts Worskhop: Candle Making.  Join Eva-Elizabeth in the practice of candle-making!  This will be for ages 5 and up, and 20 participants are welcome at $5 per person to cover costs.  This is a great Advent activity.  Sign up soon at restorationarlington.org/workshops/
  9. Clergy Emergency Contact Number: 571.766.6495 This number will ring the clergy who is on call 24 hours a day. Please use this number if you have a crisis and would like to speak to your pastor. We are available to you.
  10. Christmas Services:  We are looking for volunteers at our services on Christmas Eve (3:00, 5:00 and 9:00), Christmas Day (10:00) and New Years Day (10:00).  If you are a regular Sunday volunteer please sign up on MSP.  If you have never volunteered, this is a great way to join in.  Please contact Kathy Kenyon (kathy@restorationarlington.org) or fill out a green card if you are interested.
