Sunday Announcements - December 16, 2018

  1. RestoWomen Christmas Gathering – Women, join with friends this Tues, Dec 18 at 7:30pm in the Fellowship Hall to enjoy a Christmas celebration together!
  2. Sunday Holiday Changes:  There will be no 5pm service on Dec 23 and only one service on Dec 30 at 10am (wear your Christmas sweater).  There will not be kids’ small groups on either Sunday, but nursery will be available.
  3. Christmas Eve: We will have eucharist services at 3, 5, and 9pm.  Come to the 3 or 5 if you have a more childlike inclination and dress up as your favorite nativity character!  Come to the 9 for a more contemplative experience (there will be incense).  Looking forward to celebrating Jesus’ brith with you!
  4. The Christmas Eve Team! Are you in town for Christmas Eve? There are many ways to serve at our Christmas Eve services. If you are here, join us!  We are especially in need of help at the 3pm.  No experience necessary, and it’s a great opportunity to join us in serving and celebrating. Contact

Sanctuary Advent/Christmas Decorating:  Our theme as we have reflected on the incarnation of Christ and Ephesians 3 has been “Heaven and Earth.”  Come next Sat, Dec 22 from 9:30 to noon and/or Sun the 23 from 1pm to 4 to continue building toward the joining of heaven and earth.  Let know you are coming!
  6. Adventy Fireside Chats. Join Erica and friends at her house this Thursday (Dec 20) at 7:45pm to carve out some quiet space to exercise the discipline of waiting.  Gather fireside for a guided reflection and time of prayer each week.  RSVP

  8. Leading a Small Group.  Would you like to lead a Small Group? We are looking for new small group leaders for Winter 2019 (Jan to March). If you are potentially interested in leading a group, please contact The deadline to sign up is today.
  9. Men’s and Women’s Retreats are happening Jan 11-12 (men’s) and Feb 8-10 (women’s) at at Meadowkirk retreat center in Middleburg, VA.  Registration is open today at  You won’t want to miss these times of growing friendships and discipleship.

The Matthew 25 Gathering: Feb 19-21, 2019 Restoration will be hosting Anglicans from around North America who are contending for shalom by doing works of Justice and Mercy.  It is a privilege to get to welcome these wonderful people.  Consider holding those dates for the opportunity to be on a team serving with hospitality and logistics.
  11. AFAC Cereal and Bag Donations. Arlington Food Assistance Center (AFAC) is a non-profit that provides supplemental groceries to our neighbors in need. Consider helping by donating a box of low-sugar cereal or cloth grocery bags (new or used). Place them in the green bin in the lower Narthex.
  12. Clergy Emergency Contact Number: This is a way for you to contact one of our clergy if you have any sort of pastoral emergency.  Text or call 571.766.6495 to get through to one of them right away.
