Announcements – July 7, 2013
Summer Children’s Ministry. Kids who’ve just finished kindergarten through 5th grade stay in the sanctuary for the entire service. We have activity bags available in the narthex that are full of fun things that will help them enjoy the service. Preschoolers will continue to leave after the opening worship for their small group and return for the Eucharist. Nursery care remains available through the whole service for children under three.
The AFAC Farmers Market Challenge: Last week, the Love Arlington small group kicked off the AFAC season by gathering 1400 pounds of produce from the farmers market for distribution to Arlington’s hungry. Want to help next week’s team beat that? Email Melody atmelody.parry@gmail.com to sign up.
Stories from Asia Minor. A Restoration team has recently returned from Asia Minor, and they are full of stories of how they saw God at work in that part of the world and in themselves. Come listen, see pictures, and learn about possibilities for future Restoration involvement. Wed., July 10, at 7:30 pm at the Weimers’: 1607 Fielding Lewis Way, McLean, VA, 22101.
Worship is for lovers. We worship what we love, and our loves shape all we do in life. David Griffin is leading a special summer small group that will explore how ancient Christian practices (like prayer, scripture, creeds, and liturgy) shape us and equip us for life in a postmodern world. Wednesdays through Aug. 21 at 7:30 pm in the Treehouse at Little Falls. Questions? Emaildavidpgriffin@gmail.com.
Prayer at 4. Come to the Treehouse room (2nd floor) each Sunday from 4–4:40 pm to pray. We pray for our worship service, for each other, for whatever’s going on in the world that we care about. These prayer meetings are lively, varied, and a lot of fun. Everyone’s welcome—including kids.
Do you get our weekly e-newsletter? If not, you’re missing out on the best way to stay connected to what’s happening at Restoration. Drop an email to info@restorationarlington.org to subscribe.
Can we pray for you? Every Sunday, there are teams of trained prayer ministers at the front of the sanctuary who would love to pray for you. Nothing’s too big or too small to be prayed for. Just make your way to the front after the service.
Our offices have moved. We’re now working at 101 W. Broad St., Suite 500, Falls Church, VA, 22046. The office phone is 703-536-1839.
