Announcements – November 3, 2013
Let us welcome the newly baptized: Today we celebrate the baptisms of Emmanuelle Griffin (daughter of David and Jodie), Gram Paley (son of Matt and Kathleen), and Georgia Vogel (daughter of Dan and Campbell). Congratulations! Please pray for Emmanuelle, Gram, and Georgia as they grow in their faith and love for Jesus.
Welcoming the Stranger: One of our small groups this trimester is exploring ways to love the immigrants in our community. This week, they’re opening up their group to visitors as they host guest speakers James and Faith Cha, who will talk about their experience as and ministry to immigrants. This Wed., Nov. 6, from 7:30–9 pm. For more information, contact Clay: go to restorationarlington.org/contact and choose “Connect.”
Vestry elections: Elections for our three new vestry members will be held after the service on Nov. 10 and Nov. 17. All Restoration members are eligible to vote in the election.
Man Up. Next Tues., Nov. 12, at 7:30 pm, Restoration men will have the opportunity to “train themselves for godliness.” We’re gathering once a month for 7 months in the Little Falls sanctuary to talk about our character and to connect with potential mentors. This month’s topic: selflessness. Questions? Go to restorationarlington.org/contact and choose “Connect.”
Operation Christmas Child: Start saving those shoeboxes! Fill them with holiday gifts for children in need around the world. We’ll collect them on Nov. 17 and Nov. 24 in the narthex. If you need a Ready-to-Go shoebox, they’re available in the narthex today. Questions? Contact Cara Both at cara.voth@gmail.com.
Bridging the Youth Gap: Be part of a team Clay’s building to connect with local youth who aren’t part of Restoration. We’ve already had one great meeting; our next is Thurs., Nov. 21 at 7:30 pm. For more info, contact Clay: go to restorationarlington.org/contact and choose “Youth Ministry.”
Turkey Trot: The Tradition Continues. Once again we’re sponsoring this Thanksgiving morning 5k fun run/walk in Lyon Park to benefit AFAC and other Arlington organizations. Register to run, or volunteer to hand out water. Turkey costumes optional but highly encouraged. Contact Mary Ann Calhoun: macalhoun24@gmail.com.
Do you get our weekly e-newsletter? If not, you’re missing out on the best way to stay connected to what’s happening at Restoration. Drop an email to info@restorationarlington.org to subscribe.
Can we pray for you? Every Sunday, there are teams of trained prayer ministers at the front of the sanctuary who would love to pray for you. Nothing’s too big or too small to be prayed for. Just make your way to the front after the service.
