Come caroling tonight: Join APEX to bring a little Christmas cheer to our neighbors at Sunrise Senior Living. Tonight at 6:45 pm at 2000 N. Glebe Rd., Arlington VA 22207. All ages—and vocal abilities—welcome!
Liz is getting ordained! Next Sunday, Dec. 22, during our regular worship service, Bishop John Guernsey will ordain Liz Gray to the presbyterate (priesthood). We are thrilled to get to celebrate together what God is doing in Liz’s life and ministry. The service will be a little longer than usual, but you won’t want to miss it. So plan to be here to celebrate with Liz!
Christmas Eve at Restoration: Join us for a Eucharist service of lessons and carols at 4 pm and 8 pm at Rivendell School, 5700 Lee Hwy., Arlington VA 22207. Children: come dressed as you favorite nativity character. Nursery available at 4 pm. All of our monetary offerings at the Christmas Eve services will go to Courtney’s House, a local organization that rescues and cares for children who have been trafficked. We’ll also be collecting needed items for Doorways for Women and Children, a local safe house for domestic violence victims. Stay tuned for details.
Looking for a little quiet this Advent? This Wednesday, we’ll gather for the last time at Erica Chapman’s home for some fireside conversation, reflection, and wintery treats. We’re talking about learning to rejoice in the tiny part of God’s story that he’s written for us. Dec. 18, from 7:30–-9 pm, at 3526 N. Ohio St., Arlington, VA 22207. Questions? Go to restorationarlington.org/contact and choose “Connect.”
Register today for the Women’s Retreat: We’d love for all the women at Restoration to join us Feb. 21–23, 2014, at the Capital Retreat Center in Waynesboro, PA. Restoration’s own Connally Gilliam will be leading us. Register online: go to restorationarlington.org/ministries/retreats. Questions? Contact Liz: Go to restorationarlington.org/contact and choose “Women’s Retreat.”
Thanks, Sam! Samantha Burg, who has served faithfully on our Vestry for the last year, has stepped down from that position as God has called her to devote more energy to the other ministries she’s involved in at Restoration. We’re grateful for Sam and the many ways she serves God and others in this community. Endel Liias, who was the alternate in last months’s Vestry election, will serve the remainder of Sam’s term.
Andrew Peterson in concert: The Falls Church Anglican is hosting Andrew Peterson in a performance of his “Behold the Lamb” album this Fri., Dec. 20, at 7 pm at Bishop O’Connell High School. For tickets or more info, go to tfcanglican.eventbrite.com.
Transform your view of God’s heart for the world. Perspectives is an exceptional 15-week course on world missions that we hope everyone involved in outreach at Restoration will take at some point. The next session begins on Jan. 9 at Cherrydale Baptist Church. For more info, go to www.cherrydale.org/perspectives.
