Sunday Announcements – October 26, 2014
Prayer at W-L – Today after the 9 and 11 we will be walking down as a congregation to Washington-Lee High School to pray for the school and for the Bridging the Gap Team that is working to build relationships with students there. Please join us on your way to the parking lot.
Evensong. Sundays from 7-8pm, we will have a time of singing with some interspersed prayer in Restoration’s sanctuary until Advent. Tonight we will include some more specific prayer for Washington-Lee High School in the midst of the music. If you have questions, contact matt@restorationarlington.org. Bring a self-standing candle if you like.
All Saint’s Day: On Nov. 1, the church celebrates the “communion of the saints,” all of God’s people throughout time and around the world. If you have a loved one who has died in the last year, please send us a photo for a slideshow we’ll include in worship on Nov. 2. Email photos to Matt by Tues., Oct. 28: matt@restorationarlington.org.
Sunday Volunteer Training. Get in on the Sunday volunteer action! The more hands that help, the more you will become a part of things, and the less burden any one person will feel. Fill out your green card to express your interest or contact kathy@restorationarlington.org. Training on Nov 2, 1-2pm.
Prayer Training: Interested in joining the team who prays for folks after each service? The next training is Nov. 2, 2-4pm at church. Registration is required. To sign-up go to : restorationarlington.org/contact and choose “Prayer.” Receive some prayer after the service today as well!
RestoArts ADVENT: Contact matt@restorationarlington.org or rachaelkefoster@gmail.com if you would like to help with the artistic vision for advent. The next few weeks are the time to brainstorm!
Small Groups are in session: We each commit to a small group for 10 weeks and anticipate God’s movement in our lives. There are two open groups. Contact Liz at liz@restorationarlington.org if you are interested in plugging into one of them.
We have an app for that: Download the Restoration Anglican Church app from the Mac App Store or the Google Play Store to stay on top of Restoration events, look up a friend’s phone number or address, sign up for different events, listen to sermons and the week’s music, and more. It’s a great way to stay connected to what’s happening with the Restoration community.
Musicians: As we have switched from one to three services, we are looking forward to plugging more musicians into the rotation. If you play guitar, percussion, bass, banjo, accordion, cello, etc, contact matt@restorationarlington.org. He is also looking for some lead musicians who are desiring to be trained up as music leaders.
Washington-Lee Parking Garage @ 15 St. Please do not park on Quincy St. or the side streets. Parking toward Ballston in the Washington-Lee High School parking garage is one of the best ways that we can love our neighbors, and it is only a short walk or shuttle ride away. Thank you!
