Sunday Announcements – October 25, 2015
- Sunday Volunteer Training TODAY from 12:45 – 2:00. Serving on Sundays is open to everyone, with no experience necessary. With over 50 volunteers needed each Sunday, this is a great way to serve, meet others, and fill a much appreciated and valued role at Restoration. Already a volunteer? Invite a friend. Join us to hear about our most recent changes and share your experience.
- Evensong starts tonight. Think “campfire” prayer and singing with candles instead of a campfire – a less structured time of worship every Sunday 7-8pm from now until Advent. Ask Matt (the music leader) or ask around. Hope to see you there.
- All Saint’s Day: On Nov 1, our church celebrates the “communion of the saints,” all of God’s people throughout time and around the world. If you have a loved one who has died in the last year, please send us a photo for a slideshow we’ll include in worship. Email photos to Matt by Tues., Oct. 27: matt@restorationarlington.org
- Resto at AFAC – Tuesday, Oct 27th from 6:30-9pm. Help us distribute food to 100 families! http://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0e4ea5ac23a2f94-tuesday
- Women at Restoration: want to get to know each other beyond the Sunday service setting? Sign up for a Wisdom of Walking gathering: one-time events in various homes that simply provide a time & space to connect. www.SignUpGenius.com/go/30E0C4AACAF2AA6F85-wisdom
- Operation Christmas Child — It’s the most wonderful time of the year! A toothbrush or a jump rope has been known to change a life. Get in on the fun! Pack a shoebox for a child that will be distributed by Samaritan’s Purse. Pick up your empty shoebox with instructions near the snack area, fill it, then return it on Nov 8 or Nov 15. Ask Louise (louise@restorationarlington.org) if you have questions!
- The gift of presence. Restoration is again this year a drop-off point for those in the Northern Virginia area who are giving filled shoeboxes to kids all over the world. We collected 2,400 boxes last year! Interested in helping to receive all those Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes we anticipate getting? Sign up to volunteer by going to http://www.signupgenius.com/go/30e044dabac2da75-operation1 Or, just ask Louise. (louise@restorationarlington.org).
- RestoParents. It’s a new thing. We are creating an opportunity for parents to join in a conversation together about aspects of raising our kids. Join us Nov 3 from 7:30-9 PM as we hear from a panel of parents and join in the dialogue about praying for and with your children — from pre-birth to college-bound. Childcare for elementary-aged children and younger is available, but you must RSVP to Louise (louise@restorationarlington.org) by Nov 1.
- Storytelling Workshop by RestoArts is Sat, Nov 7 at 2pm in a location nearby. Learn from Grant Hollis how to to tell your story with fullness and clarity (especially as the holidays are coming). 7 slots are available.
