Sunday Announcements – December 20, 2015
Your chance to sing carols during advent is tonight: Join us at Sunrise Assisted Living on Glebe immediately after the 5pm service for singing and chatting from 7-8pm. Red hats optional but appreciated!
Baptism: Our next baptism will be on Sunday, January 10th. The required training will be on Tuesday, January 5th. If these dates work for you and you are interested in baptism for yourself or child, please contact Kathy Kenyon today (kathy@restorationarlington.org).
Join us Christmas Eve @ 3 pm, 5 pm, or 10 pm as we celebrate the birth of Christ with a Eucharist service of lessons and carols. The 3 and the 5 are geared towards the attention span of a child, and the 10 pm will be more traditional and contemplative with a sung Eucharist (will include incense). Park anywhere in the whole parking garage. We’d love to have you.
Christmas Eve Volunteers! Whether you’re trained or not, this is a nice way to jump on the volunteer train and serve the guests who enter our space on Christmas Eve. Contact Kathy Kenyon, kathy@restorationarlington.org. We still need greeters, readers, ushers, help with parking, Keynote, sound and more!
Giving gifts. At the Christmas Eve services we get to gather and give gifts to infants and children in our area – in much the same way that the wise men gave gifts to the Baby King. So, join us by donating a new, unwrapped item from the following list to be given to Doorways for Women and Children: $25 Target gift cards; toilet paper; paper towels; Pull-Ups (2T-5T).
Take note. There will be only one service on Dec 27 at 10am. Plan now to be there wearing your favorite Christmas sweater. There will be no Kids’ Small Groups on the 27th or at any of the services on Jan 3.
Small Group Registration opens on Jan 3rd online or on the app.
New-to-Restoration Dinner: Are you new (or new-ish) to Restoration? We’d love to meet you, tell you a little more about the church, and answer any questions you have—all while feeding you a great dinner. Join us on Tuesday, Jan 12, at 7:30 pm in the Fellowship Hall. RSVP by Jan 8 at restorationarlington.org/connect or on the app.
RestoMen’s Retreat. Jan 15-16 with speaker Dr. Curt Thompson at Meadowkirk. Sign up on the app or read more about it at restorationarlington.org/2015/11/restomens-retreat-2016/
Training and Information for Church Security by the Arlington Police Department will be on Sun, Jan 17 at 1:30 pm. The police department has developed a presentation to help churches, and all are welcome to attend this informational session in the sanctuary.
RestoWomen Retreat. The annual women’s retreat will be held at Meadowkirk from the evening of Feburary 19th to the morning of February 21st. We’ll be talking about worship, guidance, and celebration — the corporate spiritual disciplines. Registration is live on the website & on the Restoration app! Sign up now!
