Sunday Announcements – March 13, 2016

1. Confirmations.  We welcome Bishop John Guernsey as he preaches and asks God to strengthen the work of the Holy Spirit in members of our congregation.  9am: Dietrich Kehlmann, Meredith Lloyd, and Becky Mohr.  11am: Mike Dodson and Ryan Bettwy (received).  5pm: Matt Hoppe.

3. Cambodia Prayer Night on Mon, March 14 at 7:30.
   
4. Women Unscripted will meet again on Tues, March 15 focusing on the spiritual discipline of simplicity.  If you are a woman, you should come.
   
5. Women’s Gatherings: Want to get to know other women at Restoration outside of Sundays? Attend one of the upcoming women’s gatherings! These are one-time get-togethers where you’ll enjoy food & conversation – and probably make a few new friends! Dates & sign-ups can be found at: restorationarlington.org/ministries/restowomen/ and on the app.
6. Bolivia!  This July 1-11, We’ll build relationships and refresh the workers at La Trinidad (the local Anglican church) and Niños con Valor (a children’s ministry for at-risk youth).  Apply online at Restoration’s website or contact Endel Liias (endel.liias@gmail) for more details.  Closing date for applications is March 17.

8. Evensong Tonight.  7-8pm tonight.  We will not gather for Palm Sunday or Easter Sunday.  Please take advantage of all things “Holy Week.”
   
9. This week’s Lent Instagram #s are #greed vs #mercy and #gluttony vs #persecuted.  This week’s reading is Peter Kreeft’s chapters 8 and 13 of Back to Virtue.
10. Resurrection Party follows the Easter Vigil service. We will celebrate the resurrection and break our Lenten fasts together. Bring food and a fun beverage to share. Looking for festive folk to help with party details, set-up and clean-up. Contact Erica, chapman.erica@gmail.com

Holy Week Schedule

    Palm Sunday: (3/20) We will begin outside with services at 9, 11, and 5.

    Morning Prayer: Mon – Thurs 7-7:30am.

    Maundy Thursday: 7:30pm (shuttle service and nursery provided).

    Stations of the Cross: Fri at 10am for children and the young at heart,   

    12pm, 1pm, and 2pm. A priest will be available to hear confessions, but

    please email morgan@restorationarlington.org to arrange a time.

    Good Friday: 7:30pm (shuttle service and nursery provided).

    The Great Vigil of Easter: 8:30pm (shuttle provided, but no nursery);

    bring food or a fun beverage to share for the Resurrection Party

    Easter Sunday: normal service times at 9, 11 and 5.
