Sunday Announcements – February 4, 2018
- RestoMen Gathering. Join us Tues, Feb 6 for our next RestoMen gathering. We begin dinner @7pm (Bring $5 to help cover the cost). At 7:30pm we start the program, & end promptly @ 9pm. We are looking at the life of David, and our topic in Feb. is “The Crucible of the Wilderness.”
- Pancakes and Parish Meeting! On Shrove Tuesday, Feb 13, we will feast together at 6pm in the Fellowship Hall followed by the parish meeting. There will be an offering to support the Anglican Relief and Development Fund (ARDF). Childcare available for 5th grade and below during the parish meeting.
- Ash Wednesday. We will be holding Ash Wednesday services to begin our time of Lenten examination on Wed, Feb 14, at 6:30am, 12pm, and 7:30pm.
- Making a Marriage Last. This seminar will take the place of our 5pm service on 2/18. We will have nursery and a kid movie for children 5th grade and below. Note from David below.*

- Last Day to Register for Small Groups! One of the best ways to get connected at Restoration is to join a small group, and our winter trimester of small groups has started and will last for 9 weeks. Go to restorationarlington.org to register for a Winter Small Group today.
- Next Restoration Songs and Prayer. “It was so good to have the intentional space and time to listen, to pray, to worship, or to just be quiet…to be in a sacred space with powerful worship music and just ‘be.'” The next Songs and Prayer is on Sat, Feb 24 from 7pm to 8:30. - Confirmation is Coming! Would you like to be confirmed? Interested in learning more about Anglicanism? Join us for a 3 week confirmation class, which culminates with a confirmation service on 3/18. We’ll meet from 5-6:30pm on Sunday, 2/25, 3/4, & 3/11. Contact Nathan Dickerson at nathan@restorationarlington.org.
- Holy Week Art Team: Yes. Holy Week will be here before we know it, and we need you to contribute helpful and beautiful art to the story. Contact matt@restorationarlington.org if you would like to be on the Holy Week art planning team. Realize that you will be committed to make the art happen, so please be sure that you will be around that week.
- Evensong tonight from 7pm-8. We follow a loose liturgy and spend time free-form singing, praying, sharing, and listening to the Holy Spirit asking his guidance for the week to come. * I am so grateful for John and Susan Yates: they and their church launched Restoration 9 years ago. They have been married for 46 years, and they have coached thousands (really) of couples with tips and advice on how to strengthen their marriage. I hope that folks who ARE married AND folks who KNOW married people will attend. Throughout the year, we want to provide extra teaching on topics that are important to our congregation. I hope you will make this evening a priority. – David
