Sunday Announcements – November 4, 2018
- Let us welcome the newly baptized! Today we celebrate the baptisms of Grace Hannah Layman, Henry Ward McCracken, and John Nye Paterno (11am). Please pray for them as they grow in their faith and love for Jesus.
- RestoMen: Join us this Tues, Nov 6 for our next RestoMen gathering. We will begin at 7:30pm with supper, and end promptly at 9pm. This year we are looking at the challenges men face today, and our first topic is “The Challenge of Getting Real with Others.”
- Refugee Clothing Drive. The team going to West Asia is collecting 5 suitcases and filling them with clothing donations for West Asia refugees. They request your donations of shoes (all kinds), kids’ clothing, winter clothes, jackets, coats, and other clean, new or gently-used clothes. Undergarments must be new. - The Matthew 25 Gathering: Feb 19-21, 2019 Restoration will be hosting the annual ACNA Gathering for Anglican folks who are contending for shalom by doing works of Justice and Mercy. It is a privilege to get to welcome these wonderful people. There will be many opportunities for you to volunteer and serve as we open our doors to brothers and sisters from all over North America. Consider holding those dates open so that you can serve with hospitality and logistics. Currently we are seeking 30-40 households who could host a participant and provide them breakfast. - RILA Meals. We love providing food for clients and volunteers during clinic nights but are in need of more volunteers! Feel free to bring a meal as a family, with friends, roommates, or neighbors! Email Kate – katherine.liias@gmail.com. Upcoming dates: 11/7, 11/28
- Membership Sunday! Have you attended the NTRD? Have you submitted your membership paperwork? Have you had your clergy meeting? If so, you are ready to sign The Big Green Book (TBGB) next Sun, 11/11. For more info, contact kathy@restorationarlington.org.
- Fall Small Groups are Wrapping Up: Our last week of Adult Small Groups for the fall is Nov 11-17. We will then take a break from Thanksgiving through Christmas, and a new trimester of small groups will begin after the New Year.
- Are You a Musician? Would you like to serve on a Sunday? Would you like to serve on a “special” Sunday? Matt would love to chat with you. We are especially looking for percussionists and auxiliary instruments (violins, cellos, banjos, etc.). Email matt@restorationarlington.org.
- Men’s Retreat Save the Date: The 2019 Men’t Retreat will take place on Jan 11-12 at Meadowkirk retreat center in Middleburg, VA. Our topic this year is “Building Genuine Friendships.” Registration details are coming soon.
