Rector’s Update: Masks for the foreseeable future
Hi Restoration,
Removing guidance on masks at all Restoration events
Beginning tomorrow, Sunday, March 6, the vestry has removed their previous guidance regarding masks at all Restoration events. You are free to make your own decision about wearing one. This applies to all ages, including children and youth who are participating in Kids’ Small Groups and Apex. The CDC guidance for those in an area of low level of disease says: “People may choose to mask at any time. People with symptoms, a positive test, or exposure to someone with COVID-19 should wear a mask.”
Just to be extra clear: the removal of the guidance applies to the 9:00 am service as well. You are free to make your own decision about wearing one and this applies to all ages.
The Vestry and staff will continue to monitor CDC guidance and the COVID-19 community level in Arlington County and may adjust their guidance, when appropriate.
YouTube Live
I also want to affirm that we intend to continue offering the 9:00 am service on our YouTube Channel. You are welcome to join us for the live broadcast or catch it anytime after 9 am on a Sunday. We are making a change to the broadcast and instead of signing off before the Eucharist, we will now also broadcast the celebration of the Eucharist that is happening in the sanctuary. We have heard that some folks in our community would like to hear the prayers and see the liturgy, even though the taking of the sacrament is only available in the sanctuary. We hope this will help you feel connected to the whole service on those days that your circumstances prevent you from being in the sanctuary.
I am looking forward to the first Sunday of Lent with you tomorrow!
