Rector’s Update: Pentecost and the next few weeks
Dear Restoration,
This is ‘The week after the Ascension’ and each day we have been praying: ‘Do not leave us comfortless, but send us your Holy Spirit to strengthen us, and exalt us to that place where our Savior Christ has gone before.’ We are anticipating Pentecost and we are so grateful that Jesus did not leave us as orphans.
Here is what to expect on Sunday, May 23!
We are saying thank you and good-bye to Rev. Isaiah Brooms. Bring some cookies! Drop by the front terrace after both the 9 and 11 to eat them and to give thanks for the ministry of the Brooms family among us.
We are also celebrating Baptisms and Eucharist outside, under the tent, as a part of the 9 and 11 services. If you are watching on our YouTube channel, you are invited to come over to the church to see the baptisms, to take the Eucharist, and to say good-bye to Isaiah and his family. All of our Phase Gamma protocols are still in place.
Here is what’s coming up!
May 25 is a chance to visit with Ms. Louise at her home and to hear about the great things that happen when you serve as a Kids’ Small Group Leader.
June 1 is our RestoMen Cookout from 7-9pm. We can’t wait to be in person, to have some good food, to remember the insightful things we heard at our March retreat, and to pray for each other. Guys, I hope you will be there!
On June 6, Bishop John will visit for confirmations and receptions. At 12:45 we will have a parish meeting in-person, in the sanctuary and also broadcast over our YouTube Live Channel. There have been lots of changes over the last 6 months and we want to have some time to talk as a church family before we scatter in to our summer plans.
Alleluia! Christ the Lord has ascended into heaven:
O come, let us adore him. Alleluia!
