Wardens’ Report: January 2022
Wardens’ Report: January 31, 2022
The 2022 Vestry met together on Tuesday, January 25th, in Restoration’s fellowship hall for our first meeting of the year. David Hanke led us in evening prayer and then a light-hearted icebreaker over dinner before we launched into the business of the evening: orientation to vestry service.
New members were given insight into how the Vestry conducts business, approves motions, supports and advises the Rector, and interacts with others including the church staff and Advisory Teams. We approved the November 2021 minutes, heard updates from our Finance, Outreach, and Personnel teams, and wrapped up our meeting knowing that we would be together just a few days later for our Vestry retreat on January 28 – 29.
The Vestry spent a snowy Friday night and much of Saturday at beautiful Meadowkirk at Delta Farm (site of the upcoming Resto Women’s and Men’s Retreats). We focused on getting to know one another, praying individually and collectively, and discussing opportunities to meet our goal of 100 people making new commitments to Jesus by 2025 while also being responsive to what God might have in store for our church in 2022.
During our retreat we elected our 2022 Officers. Our Wardens are Lorene Eberhardt and Adam Guzzo; Dan Vogel is Treasurer and Meaghan Maguire is Assistant Treasurer; Mary Jo Binker is our Secretary. We will confirm the Vestry leads of our Advisory Teams (Finance, Personnel, Outreach, Race & Reconciliation, and Facility), and invite new members to these teams as necessary in the coming weeks. We are thankful for the Restoration members who serve on these teams and provide invaluable guidance and counsel to our Vestry.
We welcome your questions, encouragement, feedback, and most of all, your prayers. You can read an archive of past Wardens’ Reports on our website or Vestry Meeting minutes on CCB, under the ‘Files’ tab in the ‘Entire Church Group’
