Executive Director’s Update: A New Hire!

Hello, Restoration! 

We are so excited to announce our new Kids’ Small Group Coordinator: Meredith Gravatte! You, Restoration, have prayed for many months for this role. We are grateful for your prayers and grateful to God for bringing Meredith to us! 

As the Kids’ Small Group Coordinator, Meredith will work and partner with Louise Brooks to maintain a safe and welcoming kids’ small group environment for the littlest members of our community. Meredith will oversee the nursery space, supplies, curriculum, and staff and volunteers, as she works to grow disciples of Jesus throughout the week and each Sunday.

Meredith joined our team this week and we’re thrilled to have her. 

Here is a little bit more background from Meredith:

I grew up between Culpeper and Warrenton, VA, and spent most of my childhood barefoot in the country. I came to know Jesus through YoungLife when I was 15 and I attended Harding, a small Christian school in Arkansas, before transferring and graduating from VCU. 

Upon graduating with an English degree, I moved to Rwanda to teach English as a Second Language to Rwandan teachers. God called me into more ministry with a job at Cru’s Christian Embassy. While there, I served in development and supporting Bible Studies with high-profile leaders in Washington, DC. Most recently, God called me to start a master’s program at Wheaton in Humanitarian and Disaster Relief, to strategically serve God’s people in times of great need.

I started attending Restoration in August 2021, and God opened doors for me to deploy to the Afghan Refugee Crisis. After responding to this mission for three months, I returned to Virginia. I am excited about this opportunity to continue serving God’s people and partner with this great mission at Restoration – to grow the kingdom of God and connect God’s people with His great love for us and the world. As the Kid’s Small Group Coordinator, I am thrilled to work alongside Louise and support this congregation by encouraging the kids that God knows them, is crazy about them, and goes with them everywhere. I am honored to be on this fantastic staff of people who are God-fearing, people-loving, and kingdom-growing.
