Louise Brooks and I had the privilege of leading Morning Prayer at the 2024 ACNA Assembly this morning in Latrobe, PA. It is always a joy to partner with Louise. She is such a gifted communicator. In my prayers, I loved getting to thank God for our new Archbishop, Steve Wood and also give thanks for the ministry of Archbishop Foley Beach, who will conclude his service in that role on Friday. One more special treat has been getting to see our own Lydia Marshall who is serving as a youth delegate and also helped with the Festival Eucharist in the Basilica this afternoon. A special day for Restoration!
Please keep reading for a note from Kat Downs about our transition to Church Center. And keep on reading for a link to the slide deck and notes from our parish update this past Sunday.
It was really fun to have all the elementary kids in the sanctuary during the sermon on Sunday and it was REALLY fun to cheer:
God has given us a great team at Restoration. I like cheering for you and with you.
And Restoration is on a great team in our Anglican family across North America. I have connected with many of them this week.
And Anglicans are a part of a great team of the Global Church that stretches across the globe and across history.
I’ll close with the words that I prayed this morning, from our Prayer Book, in thanksgiving to God, for the miracle of teh church:
“O God of unchangeable power and eternal light: Look favorably on your whole Church, that wonderful and sacred mystery…” (BCP p. 646).
The church is not perfect, but it proclaims the One who is. Thanks be to God. See you on Sunday, -David
A Note from Executive Director Kat Downs:
Thanks to those of you who have moved your online giving from CCB to Church Center! We are very grateful for your engagement with this transition.
So far, we have roughly 75% of our recurring donations in the new platform. If you have not yet moved your recurring donation to Church Center, would you please do so by this Sunday, June 30?
