My name is Lexi and I head up the High School Ministry at Restoration! I grew up in the Richmond area and went to college at University of Richmond where I studied Sociology, Math, and Spanish – clearly I knew ~exactly~ what I wanted to do with my life. A post-grad year with a Fellows Program at an Anglican Church in Raleigh led to 6 years of working for FOCUS (Fellowship of Christians in Universities and Schools) in the Greater Washington Area; during these years I learned how to minister to middle and high school independent school students all around this achievement oriented, fast-paced town. With FOCUS, I uncovered deep passions for joy-filled community, for creating spaces where people can come as they are to be known & loved while they seek the truth, and for walking alongside students as they grow into who Christ has created them to be.
My husband Jonathan and I met through community in Arlington and got married in 2019 – we live in Fairlington, and our family has grown to include our pup Haven and our baby boy Henry! Some of my favorite things are the island of Martha’s Vineyard, exploring new places, Ruffles sour cream & cheddar chips, the pool, lightly competitive games, walks with friends, anything outdoors, and music. When I joined Resto in fall 2013 I never thought I’d end up on staff! This church has been a place of deep rest, powerful formation, authentic community, and exponential growth for me, as here I learned how to allow the love and power of Jesus to infiltrate not just Sunday mornings, but every corner of my very normal everyday life. It is a real privilege to continue to serve high schoolers in this community as we seek to connect with God, others, and the needs of the world!
