    Indeed, receiving mercy is contingent on us forgiving. And yet, conversely, our offering of forgiveness mus’int be contingent on being shown mercy.  We must be prepared to accecpt and indeed WELCOME that our seeking forgiveness my not be received; that mercy may NOT be shown us by the other.  This can purify our offering of forgiveness, purify our love/our welcoming and participating in the cross we are asked to carry.
