Sunday Announcements – August 24, 2014
Preparing for our move back! New Volunteer Training Date. If you are presently a liturgical volunteer or desire to become one (greeting, setting the altar, serving communion, reading, etc.), you need to come to one of the trainings on Saturday, Sept. 6 at either 9:30 am or 1:30 pm at 1815 North Quincy St, Arlington, VA. This is a simple, fun, and flexible way to plug in and serve the community of Restoration. Have questions? Contact Matt by going to restorationarlington.org/contact and selecting “volunteers.”
Impossible things: Ever said yes to something you thought would be impossible and been blown away by God’s grace? Thats what it’s like to be a kids’ small group leader. C’mon! Talk with Louise about joining a team of folks who get a front row seat to the work that God is doing in and through them and others. Go to restorationarlington.org/contact select “Children’s Ministry.”
Desiring to build relationships? Join a Small Group: If you ask many people what their favorite thing about Restoration is, they will say “Small Groups.” We each commit to a small group for 10 weeks and anticipate God’s movement in our lives. Sign-up will begin next week, Aug. 31, restorationarlington.org/connect/small-groups.
Register for the Fall Retreat today! Hot and humid weather getting old? Imagine crisp fall days in the Shenandoah mountains! Restoration’s annual all-church fall retreat will be Oct. 18–19 (with an optional Friday night arrival on Oct. 17) in Harrisonburg, VA. Register on the website at restorationarlington.org/ministries/retreats.
Calling all techies: We are looking for a group of audio/visually minded people to learn the new technical systems in our building. We desire to serve our congregation well with our new media tools. Interested? Go to restorationarlington.org/contacts and choose “Volunteer.” Drop a quick note to Matt expressing your interest.
Missions fair: Do you want to know more about our outreach projects and partners? Come down to the Fellowship Hall on 9/7 after the service and see what’s going on… so many ways to get involved. Info? Julia Riesenberg at julia.riesenberg@gmail.com
Can we pray for you? Every Sunday, there are teams of trained prayer ministers at the front of the sanctuary who would love to pray for you. Nothing’s too big or too small to be prayed for. Just make your way to the front after the service.
Our weekly e-newsletter: If you’re not getting it, you’re missing out on the best way to stay connected to what’s happening at Restoration. Drop an email to info@restorationarlington.org to subscribe.
Eager to move to the new building? We are, too. We’re in the final stages of construction and plan to have our first services at 9, 11, and 5 back on Quincy St. on September 7th. Please pray for all of the details that are necessary in attaining our certificate of occupancy. Watch this space for details.
