I am definitely interested in the conversation to be hosted by Liz in the RAC Fellowship Hall this coming Thurs night, March 16, with respect to the developing vision for a new church plant in South Arlington. I just wish it wasn’t this week, with its brutal cokd and lingering patches of ice. For this reason I would prefer to come out to what will surely be many other conversations as the weather warms up and our future plans begin to take shape. I am very pleased to see that in the coming Spring Trimester there will also be an RAC small group centered around the South Arlington Church Plant, and would also be open to taking part in prayer walks and perhaps other forms of on-the-ground interactions with the Sourh Arlington neighbors whom we hope to get to know as we think about the kind of community it is, and about how our presence there could make a lasting impact for the Gospel. Thank you for providing us with these wonderful opportunities! — Weber

OK, I’m coming to this meeting tonight after all. Our perennially challenged Metro system has sealed the deal for me once again. Water is spraying on the electrified rail in the tunnel outside L’Enfant Plaza–delays in both directions, naturally. So…do I want to be stuck underground for who knows how long, waiting for my train to move so I can get on the bus at the Pentagon which would have taken me directly home, or…shall I once again board the Orange or Silver Line train that will take me from my office to Ballston, so I can walk up to RAC again on this EXTREMELY brisk March evening, so I can hear about our wonderful plans for South Arlington? And since the time change this past Sunday, I’ll probably enjoy a lovely sunset vista of Washington & Lee High School, too, as I’m strolling quickly up North Quincy St. to get out of this beastly cold. I’m looking forward to our discussion tonight, and THEN I will go home and get some sleep. Thanks, everyone! –Weber
