- Refugee Clothing Drive Due Next Week. The team going to West Asia is filling 5 suitcases with clothing donations for West Asia refugees. They request your donations for new or gently-used children’s apparel: shoes (all kinds), clothing (especially winter), jackets, and coats. Undergarments must be new. - The Matthew 25 Gathering: Feb 19-21, 2019 Restoration will be hosting the annual ACNA Gathering for Anglican folks who are contending for shalom by doing works of Justice and Mercy. It is a privilege to get to welcome these wonderful people. There will be many opportunities for you to volunteer and serve as we open our doors to brothers and sisters from all over North America. Consider holding those dates open so that you can serve with hospitality and logistics. Currently we are seeking 30-40 households who could host a participant and provide them breakfast. - Fall Small Groups are Wrapping Up: Our last week of Adult Small Groups for the fall is this week: Nov 11-17. We will then take a break from Thanksgiving through Christmas, and a new trimester of small groups will begin after the New Year.
- Arlington Turkey Trot 5k. Join other Restoration runners and walkers at the Arlington Turkey Trot at 8 a.m. on Thanksgiving (Thurs, Nov. 22) to benefit AFAC, Young Life and other local organizations. Register at www.arlingtonvaturkeytrot.org Email Cathy at crguiles@gmail.com for details.
- The Glebe Star Trees are Coming! It’s the most wonderful time of the year! The Glebe Star Trees are coming soon. We’ll have the opportunity to grab a tag and buy a gift for someone we don’t know, but whom we can love well. More details coming next week, but ask Louise if you have questions.
- Providing RILA Meals. Thanks to everyone who has prepared a meal for RILA. It has been a huge blessing for clients and volunteers. If you, your family, friends, neighbors, or small groups are interested in providing a meal in the future, e-mail Kate Liias at katherine.liias@gmail.com
- RILA Meal Coordinator: We are looking for someone to coordinate meals for the RILA clinics that take place twice a month. If this is something you would be interested in or would like to learn more about, please e-mail Kate Liias at katherine.liias@gmail.com
- AFAC Cerial and Bag Donations. Arlington Food Assistance Center (AFAC) is a non-profit that provides supplemental groceries to our neighbors in need. Consider helping by donating a box of low-sugar cereal or cloth grocery bags (new or used). Place them in the green bin in the lower Narthex.
- Men’s Retreat Save the Date: The 2019 Men’t Retreat will take place on Jan 11-12 at Meadowkirk retreat center in Middleburg, VA. Our topic this year is “Building Genuine Friendships.” Registration details are coming soon.
- Women’s Retreat Save the Date: Feb, 8-10, 2019 also at Meadowkirk retreat center in Middleburg, VA. Registration opens next Sunday.
