Wardens’ Report: June 2022
June 28, 2022
The Vestry met at Restoration on Tuesday, June 28, for our sixth meeting of 2022. David Hanke led us in prayer in the sanctuary. We praised God for his provision of Isaac Wardell as Restoration’s new Director of Worship Arts and for his financial provision through the generous giving of our Church as we consider our budget for FY23. We also gave thanks for the leadership of Louise Brooks and her partnership with Meredith Gravatte in loving and serving Restoration’s kids. We are grateful for their dedication and creativity. We prayed with expectant hope for the new team of volunteers that God will raise up to come alongside Louise and Meredith in the coming year to help our children grow in the knowledge and love of the Lord.
The Vestry approved the May 2022 minutes and reviewed some of our existing plans and policies such as our Safety and Security Plan and Rector Succession Policy. We also consented on a motion the Vestry passed earlier in the month to utilize a one-time lump sum addition from our cash reserves to increase our personnel budget in FY23 so that Restoration can restructure its staff compensation levels to align with the staff’s responsibilities. We continue to give thanks to God for his generous provision as we have had more than 6 months of cash on hand for all of 2022, more than double the amount we typically keep in our account.
Our Treasurer, Dan Vogel, and Assistant Treasurer, Meaghan Maguire, led a discussion on Restoration’s FY23 budget based on an initial proposal from our Finance Advisory Team. We are grateful for the advisory team’s work over the last few months and ask for your continued prayers as they finalize their analysis and recommendations for the FY23 budget. The Vestry will approve the final FY23 budget in our July meeting.
Finally, Jen Paterno, on behalf of the Outreach Advisory Team, provided a preview of our outreach grant requests. We received more requests than ever this year, so we ask for your prayers as we discern where God is calling us to give among the many of wonderful organizations that applied for grants.
We welcome your questions, encouragement, feedback, and most of all, your prayers. You can read an archive of past Wardens’ Reports on our website or Vestry Meeting minutes on CCB, under the ‘Files’ tab in the ‘Entire Church Group’
