Wardens’ Report: August 2022
August 23, 2022
The Vestry met at Restoration on Tuesday, August 23, for our eighth meeting of 2022. We earnestly prayed for God’s wisdom in discerning who he has determined should be our next Rector, should David be elected Bishop, and for the three candidates put forward to be our next Bishop. We prayed that this potential transition does not lead to division and broken relationships among our church and that God would give us all an extra measure of his grace so we can deal with each other generously, charitably, and respectfully no matter the outcome. We prayed for unity and peace among the Vestry and our staff as we deal with this time of uncertainty and also welcome in Isaac Wardell as a new member of the team. Finally, we continue to lift up David and his family during this period of uncertainty.
The Vestry approved our agenda and the June 2022 (amended) and July 2022 minutes. We then dove into a discussion about the feedback and questions we received during the August 25 Parish Meeting. We also discussed our upcoming prayer meetings hosted by members of the Vestry.
Assistant Treasurer Meaghan Maguire reported that giving for July was 11 percent above projections and overall giving for FY22 is 14 percent above projections. Expenses remain 2 percent under budget.
Dennis Wong provided an update from the Personnel Advisory Team and reminded the Vestry that Isaac Wardell, our new Director of Worship Arts, will lead us in worship for the first time on Sunday, September 4.
We welcome your questions, encouragement, feedback, and most of all, your prayers. You can read an archive of past Wardens’ Reports on our website or Vestry Meeting minutes on CCB, under the ‘Files’ tab in the ‘Entire Church Group’
