As for the one who is weak in faith, welcome that person, but not to quarrel over opinions.

Dear Restoration,
Scott did such a great job with the sermon last week.
I loved this line: “We are judged by the quality of our relationships over the purity of our opinions.”
It relieves the focus of our intensity to always being right. It requires us to do the hard work of listening to where the other person is coming from, while also straining to understand the strengths of their perspective. It requires us to be careful with the words we use to describe our opinions. It requires us to remember that often we really are merely expressing our opinion! Give us humility, Lord.
As we think about working on the quality of our relationships, I want to invite you, one more time, to join us tonight for the conversation we are hosting with John Inazu. And the 11:15 was a huge success! We had 755 people at Restoration last Sunday, nicely and non-chaotically spread over three services. Thanks for flexing with us! We will keep going with 8:00 // 9:30 // 11:15 for the next 5 Sundays.
This week is Pentecost and baptisms! There will be so much energy and joy in the room. Come ready to sing with gusto!

One of my favorite parts of last Sunday was hearing from our friend and parishioner, Rev. Mary Amendolia Gardner. She announced a new non-profit, The St. Brigid Center for Art and Healing: Caring for Creatives and Creating for the Common Good. It is in the early stages of development. It will be a place to gather with creatives to find healing, in community, through the arts. It will be a place to encourage artists. It will also be a center from which people can reach out to others who need healing: a center to create and make art in all its forms: poetry, visual arts, theater, dance; a center for the common good, that is reaching out to the community.

One of our Resto families gave sunflowers to the pre-school kids to give to their Moms on Mother’s Day. I love how the flowers became a part of our worship.
This photo only hints at the majesty of it.
Let’s sing out! Because as our Lord said, “if we don’t, even the flowers, er rocks, will cry out!”
