Sunday Announcements – May 18, 2014
Looking for an easy way to serve? On the fourth Tuesday of each month, a team from Restoration serves our neighbors at the Arlington Food Assistance Center (AFAC). Join us as we bag, distribute, and re-stock food. Tues., May 27, from 6:30–9 pm. Children 14+ are welcome. Go to restorationarlington.org/ministries/outreach/local/ to sign up.
Building update: The brick is up, the cross is mounted; drive by and get excited! Thank you for your continued generosity toward this project. Total project budget: $4,671,123. Total pledged: $2,441,892. Given to date: $1,509,661.
Come pray with us. Bridging the Gap is a loosely structured team with one thing in common—we care about the youth of Arlington. With this in mind, we meet at Washington-Lee High School each Tuesday from 6:15–6:45 pm. We gather at the front entrance (on N. Stafford St.) and then walk around the school, pray for the students, staff, and community. Please join us—everyone is welcome.
New members: We’ll be receiving new members during the service on Sun., Jun. 1. If you’d like to become a member, you need to have attended a New-to-Restoration Dinner and completed the membership forms by Fri., May 30. Forms can be found on the website. Questions? Contact Kat: go to restorationarlington.org/contact and choose “Membership.”
Women Unscripted: All women are warmly invited on Tues., May 20, at 7:30 pm in the Chapel at Little Falls Presbyterian to “Women Unscripted: Stories of Vocation.” Come and hear a group of women share stories of vocation and think about what vocation means to you!
Snack Summit. Interesting in talking about post-service hospitality at Restoration? Join us for a brainstorming session at the Grays’ home on Mon. May 26 at 7:30 pm: 4318 39th St. N., Arlington VA 22207.
West VA Trip Fundraiser: Couldn’t make it on the WV Trip but would still like to support the team? You’ll have your chance on Sun., Jun. 1, right after the service. The team will serve an excellent dinner and all the proceeds will go to support the team. Bring some cash and a big appetite!
What’s happening at Restoration? Several times a year, we hold a parish meeting to update you on important goings-on in our life together and to give you a chance to ask questions. The next one will be Sun., Jun. 8, immediately following the service. Childcare will be available for nursery- and preschool-aged kids. If Restoration is your church home, this is your family meeting. (Minus the drama.)
Do you get our weekly e-newsletter? If not, you’re missing out on the best way to stay connected to what’s happening at Restoration. Drop an email to info@restorationarlington.org to subscribe.
