You got Questions? We got answers…
We’re glad you asked about The Restoration Fall Retreat!
Registration is now full. Register for the waiting list below.
What are the dates again?
The Retreat is Oct. 16-17 – 18. We will begin on Friday night about 7:30
PM and finish up with lunch on Sunday before departing.
How do I register?
Registration is now full, but you can download the registration form here and sign up for the waiting list
or there are paper copies available at church. Complete the form – (one per family) and send it in with an Oct. 1 post-dated check to the registrar who is listed on the form.
Do I have to be a member to attend?
Absolutely not. Everyone is welcome.
Where is the camp located?
In Harrisonburg Va, about 4 miles off Interstate 81. The drive down 66 and 81 takes about an hour and forty five minutes. You can take a look at Massanetta Springs here.
Do I make one check out to Restoration for everything?
Yes – one Check which you can post date for Oct. 1 to Restoration Anglican Church. We have already paid Massanetta Springs some deposit money and we will pay for all the rooms and food closer to the date.
Should I put the 5% tax on everything?
We will owe Massanetta Springs 5% on rooms and food. You may apply your 5% to those two amounts only. You don’t have to pay the 5% for the retreat fees or if you choose to give a scholarship.
I really can’t afford it – are scholarships available?
Yes scholarships are available. Please fill out a form and send it in to the registrar if you would like to go. Lack of funds should not keep anyone in our church from attending. All scholarship requests are kept confidential.
Is this retreat for everyone?
Yes – all ages. We will have a nursery and toddler child care. Pre-school children to 5th grade will have their own programs. 6th graders and older will join the adults in the general sessions.
Will we all be together for meals?
Yes meal times are set and children and adults will all eat together.
Will we have any free time?
Yes – we will have some great activities you can take advantage of on Saturday afternoon or you can elect just to spend the time exploring, reading, sleeping, or whatever relaxes you.
Who is the Speaker?
Rod Handley – founder of Character That Counts is our retreat speaker. He speaks all over the US at lots of different kinds of events, but loves family camps (he speaks at Kanakuk camps which are very popular Christian camps in the midwest).
Will we have Musical Worship?
Yes Alex Mejias will be leading worship for us during the weekend. Some of you may remember him from Cornerstone. He has led Breakaway weekends for TFC in the past. He currently leads worship at a church in Charlottesville. Here is some more info about Alex.
Will we have entertainment on Saturday night?
Yes we are very excited that Danny Ray will be with us. Kids and Adults alike will love him!!! He is an illusionist, who also happens to have a seminary degree.
Are we having Sunday morning Service?
Yes we will be having a Sunday morning service while at the retreat.
Will there be services on Quincy Street that weekend?
NO!! Services at Restoration on Quincy Street will be cancelled that weekend
because hopefully if you didn’t have other plans – you will all be at the
retreat!

just fyi, it looks like the form contradicts the Q&A…the form asks you to add 5% to the subtotal of room + food + fee + scholarschip — but the blog says only add 5% to food and room.
Thanks for organizing — we’re looking forward to it!

Thanks Jonathan. That was a mistake we made on the form. Good catch. The FAQ is correct. 5% on just room and food.

Earlier this year just as my mom’s chemo treatments were beginning, she and her three sisters took a sister’s vacation to Massunutten. (By the way, she just finished chemo!) Since they went before the tourist season began they practically had the place to themselves. They loved Danny Ray’s show and said it was the best activity of their week.
