Fall Retreat 2013: Register today!
Registration is now open for the 2013 Fall Retreat. A favorite fall ritual at Restoration, this retreat brings our entire church out of Arlington and closer to one another. We spend two days in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley, worshiping, playing, learning, and connecting. So plan to spend October 19-20 with Restoration at Massanetta Springs (near Harrisonburg, VA)!
This year, we’re especially looking forward to:
- the chance learn from Dr. Steve Hayner, the President of Columbia Theological Seminary and the Chairman of the Board of International Justice Mission. Previously, Steve served as the President of InterVarsity Christian Fellowship. (Read: he used to be David’s boss. We’re sure he’s got embarrassing stories.)
- an opportunity to connect with others at Restoration over meals, in small groups, and around a bonfire. Plus, we’ll have plenty of free time for hiking, flag football, cornhole, wine-tasting, or art-making.
- sleeping in on Saturday. New this year, you can choose to check in early on Friday for an additional fee. You’ll be on your own for meals Friday night and Saturday morning, but there are plenty of fun things to explore in the Shenandoah Valley.
Click here to sign up today. Register before September 1 to get the early-bird discount.

We have taken our kids to this retreat every year, for the past 4 years. Sad to say, we will be unable to attend this year: Lucas is performing a wedding ceremony in Arkansas. However, I encourage everyone who has kids to go to this – back to nature – the creek, the hikes, the “sitting around” with no agendas or to-do lists, the big hill that they can run up and roll down (and run up and roll down and run up …) the foliage everywhere, the rustic environment. It is so good for their souls. As are the s’mores Saturday night …. Moms, you don’t have to prepare one single meal for 36 hrs. And no dishes. Someone actually makes you coffee all day long. I will delay telling my kids we’re not going AS-LONG-AS-POSSIBLE. If at all possible for you, go. Go! GO!

I’ve seen a schedule but can’t find it on this page: how early Saturday morning does the retreat start, and when does it end Sunday afternoon?
Thanks!
