Announcements – November 24, 2013
Happy birthday to us! This Sunday marks the fourth anniversary of the installation of our first vestry and of David as our rector. So grab a piece of birthday cake after the service and join us in giving thanks to God for all he has done at Restoration in the last four years.
Welcome to our new Vestry members: Isaiah Brooms, Carolyn Weimer, and Ramsey Wilson will join the Vestry in January. Thanks to those who stood for the election and to all who voted. Please pray for all our Vestry members as they lead our church.
Special offering for the Philippines: Today we’re collecting a special offering for the Typhoon Haiyan relief work of the Anglican Relief and Development Fund. If you’d like to donate, please use the plain white envelopes in the pew rack in front of you for cash or checks. Checks should be made out to Restoration Anglican Church, with “ARDF” in the memo line. To learn more about ARDF’s work, go to anglicanaid.net.
Interested in leading a small group in Tri1 2014? Our next round of small groups begins mid-January. If you’d like to lead a group, please contact Liz by Dec. 1: go to restorationarlington.org/contact and choose “Small Groups.”
Asia Minor: Erica Chapman and Trent and Amy Rowe have just returned from Asia Minor. Come hear more about their experiences as we explore how God is calling Restoration to serve this part of the world. Tues., Dec. 3, at 7:30 pm at the Grays’: 4318 39th St. N., Arlington VA 22207. We’re sending two teams to Asia Minor in 2014; if you think you might be interested, this meeting is a great place to start.
After-service prayer training: We’re expanding the ranks of our after-service prayer team. Liz will lead a training session on Sun., Dec 8, from 2–4 pm. If you’re interested, contact Liz: go to restorationarlington.org/contact and choose “Prayer.”
Women’s Retreat: Registration coming soon. Keep an eye out for registration for our annual Women’s Retreat, which will be Feb. 21–23, 2014, at the Capital Retreat Center in southern Pennsylvania. Our own Connally Gilliam will be leading us. Questions? Contact Liz: Go to restorationarlington.org/contact and choose “Women’s Retreat.”
Do you get our weekly e-newsletter? If not, you’re missing out on the best way to stay connected to what’s happening at Restoration. Drop an email to info@restorationarlington.org to subscribe.
Can we pray for you? Every Sunday, there are teams of trained prayer ministers at the front of the sanctuary who would love to pray for you. Nothing’s too big or too small to be prayed for. Just make your way to the front after the service.
