Every day, consciously or subconsciously, we receive messages and stories about what it means to be human. What it means to be a man or to be a woman. We absorb these in words and pictures, in films and even toys… And those messages and stories – even when they aren’t necessarily Christian – help us tell our own stories. They give us language and ways of expressing ourselves. But even though we may see ourselves in them, we often need community to help us know whether what they are saying is true.
I hope you’ll join us on Tuesday, May 21, at 7:30pm, for a conversation about Barbie and what it means to be a woman today. We’ll let Barbie tell her story through a few movie clips, and then a few of us will respond, telling our stories, as we connect with the realities and see the more that the Lord offers us.
