Ethan Malis
Director of Youth Ministries
I was born and raised in Tucson, Arizona where I met and married my wife, Sierra. I received my undergraduate degree in Biblical Studies with a minor in Counseling. I worked a lot of miscellaneous jobs—from cafe manager to digital marketing specialist—while my wife and I finished school. In 2020, we moved to Mississippi for a few years so my wife could continue her education.
At the end of 2022, we made the move to DC. We have found a home and a family in our DC community over the past three years and learned the importance of connection and the value of pursuing and investing time in building a true community with people. That includes Restoration.
A few things I love:
Reading. Mostly Russian literature and theology, but I’ll read anything.
Sharing meals with people. Simple as that.
Coffee. Working in specialty coffee for a few years introduced me to the complexities of coffee as a drink and as a place for community, for people to be together.
Art, music, and a good film. Anything well done truly makes my life better.
Walking. Especially a post-dinner walk in the Spring.
The Buffalo Bills. GO BILLS.
As I’ve worked in many different fields with many different people and found community in each place we’ve landed, I have found simply that I care deeply about helping people follow Jesus in a tangible, sustainable, and healthy way in all aspects of life.
