David, I shared a few thoughts about your sermon while violating the first rule of doing so: not telling you at the outset how inspirational this and all your sermons have been, not only for me but Marla as well. It was hard for this life-long Presbyterian to adjust to services that celebrate communion every week and last more than an hour, let alone more than an hour and a half. Yet I now look forward to them, in large part because of your unabashed love of the liturgy and each of its elements. I don’t apologize for expressing a criticism of one choice of words that I thought could so easily be interpreted as judgment that Officer Wilson was wrong, but please don’t think I walked away without appreciation for the work you put into the sermon, its messages that we must pray for everyone (missing from our former church), and Christ’s place in our church, unique among all religions. Sincerely, Phil Burton

Phil, I really appreciated your comments and that you came up for the Q&A. Thanks for placing such a high value on our community (and me!) that you would come and share your view. I am grateful. And I love that you look forward to all that happens on Sundays at Restoration. You and Marla have become such a dear part of our community.
