Sunday Announcements – October 5, 2014
Come to the New-to-Restoration Dinner! Tues., Oct. 7, at 7:30 pm in the Fellowship Hall. We’d love to meet you and help you get to know our church a little more. If you haven’t RSVP’d, visit our homepage at restorationarlington.org and choose “New to Restoration Dinner.”
ManUp: Judges – Resto’s ManUp series will have its first gathering on Tuesday, Oct 14 at 7pm in the Fellowship Hall. First 50 dudes there get Potbelly’s dinner. $10 donation suggested. Program starts at 7:30. Bring a friend (that’s a dude) and join us as we explore what it means to mature in Christ and form meaningful friendships.
Call for Vestry Nominations: Restoration is lead by a team of 10 elders— the Rector and 9 elected vestry members. These vestry members serve for 3 year terms. We will elect 4 vestry members in November. Nominations are now open. Please send the name of your nomination and 2-3 sentences on why you are nominating this person to nominations@restorationarlington.org If you have any questions, please contact Santiago Sedaca at ssedaca@carana.com
No church service at 1815 Quincy Oct 19. We will be retreating together and holding service at the Fall Retreat in Massanetta Springs. We are greatly looking forward to spending time with those of you who are signed up for the Fall Retreat!
APEX tonight! 6:30-8:15pm. Meet in the Fellowship Hall for food, games, hanging out with friends, and getting to know Jesus more. For more information, go to contact on our website or our app and select youth.
Small Groups are in session: We each commit to a small group for 10 weeks and anticipate God’s movement in our lives. There are two open groups. Contact Liz at liz@restorationarlington.org if you are interested in plugging into one of them.
We have an app for that: Download the Restoration Anglican Church app from the Mac App Store or the Google Play Store to stay on top of Restoration events, look up a friend’s phone number or address, sign up for different events, listen to sermons and the week’s music, and more. It’s a great way to stay connected to what’s happening with the Restoration community.
Sunday Volunteers. A new volunteer schedule has been made through the end of November, but you can still get in on the Sunday liturgical service action. Fill out your green card to express your interest or contact kathy@restorationarlington.org.
Musicians: As we have switched from one to three services, we are looking forward to plugging more musicians into the rotation. If you play guitar, percussion, bass, banjo, accordion, cello, etc, contact matt@restorationarlington.org. He is also looking for some lead musicians who are desiring to be trained up as music leaders.
Washington-Lee Parking Garage: Please do not park on Quincy St. or the side streets. Parking toward Ballston in the Washington-Lee High School parking garage is one of the best ways that we can love our neighbors, and it is only a short walk or shuttle ride away. Thank you!
