Our hearts are grieving for the people of Haiti and Afghanistan. Perhaps you, like me, have joined your voice with the psalmist who cries, ‘How long, oh Lord?’
We are grateful for our friends and partners at Coracle.
Tonight at 5:30 PM (EST), we have an opportunity to join our hearts and minds with others who are crying out. Rev. Bill Haley, the Executive Director of Coracle, will be leading a time of prayer together over Zoom. Link to join.
If you aren’t able to join, Coracle has provided this prayer for you to use in your own times with our Lord, who hears the prayers of his people.
O merciful Father, who have taught us in your holy Word that
you do not willingly afflict or grieve the children of men: Look with pity upon the sorrows of the people of Afghanistan and Haiti, for whom our prayers are offered. Remember them, O Lord, in mercy, nourish their souls with patience, comfort them with a sense of your goodness, lift up your countenance upon them, and give them peace; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. (Book of Common Prayer)
Praying with you,
