Rector’s Update: Info for Parish Meeting on Sunday
Hi Restoration, Hope you have had a great week. Our middle schoolers have been working so hard serving several of our outreach partners. It is awesome to see them in action. Many thanks to our Apex staff and volunteers who are making these opportunities happen! First, let me give a final encouragement for you to consider leading a small group this fall! We have them for all ages. If you would like to lead a Kids’ Small Group on Sunday mornings for the whole academic year, please reach out to Louise. If you are interested in serving on our Apex team that serves middle and high school students, please reach out to Ryan and Lexi. If you are interested in leading an adult small group during our fall trimester (10 weeks, Sept 11-Nov 19), please reach out to Beth. The deadline is this Sunday to indicate interest in small group leadership. This is it! Let us know if you are interested. (Registration for all small groups will open in September!) Second, I am attaching 3 documents in preparation for our parish meeting on Sunday, August 21, at 12:45 (right after the 11:00 service). Child care will be available for kids 3 and under. Older children are welcome to join us in the sanctuary for the parish meeting. At the meeting, the vestry will explain the rector succession policy and how it would be implemented, should it be needed. The vestry will also talk through the working description they have created of both Restoration and the kind of person who could serve as Restoration’s next rector. I also pulled together the answers our 2022 vestry gave to our discernment questions in the year they were elected. This document will help you get to know our vestry and pray for them during this important season. I look forward to seeing you on Sunday as we worship together and then gather together in our parish meeting so that we can walk together in this season of potential change. Have a great Friday! -David |
