Continuing to serve our neighbors
Please sign up to join us on Saturday, September 17 or Saturday, October 15 as we partner with Comunidad to deliver groceries to recently arrived Afghan refugees. We have slots open on Saturdays once a month. We meet at the Wilson Center in Falls Church and volunteers will be placed in pairs, and each pair will deliver groceries to 4-6 families. Children are welcome to join with their parents. If it’s your first time volunteering for this food distribution, you will be asked to complete a background check.
2) Grocery Support
We continue to assist families who have struggled to obtain food assistance while they wait for their paperwork to clear for SNAP and other food assistance programs. If you would like to support these families, you can purchase gift cards from Giant (the closest grocery store with some Halal options) or VISA gift cards and bring them to church.
Contact Scott to let him know you are dropping off grocery store gift cards. You can mail them to the church: Restoration Anglican Church c/o Rev. Scott Buckhout – 1815 N Quincy St. Arlington, VA 22207. He will coordinate getting the cards to the families.
