Sunday Announcements – November 22, 2015
- Happy Birthday Restoration! We are officially 6 years old. On November 22, 2009, Restoration became an official parish in the Anglican Communion with a fully functioning vestry and rector. We are so thankful for all that God has done since that day in the Ballston Hilton and we look forward to seeing what God will do in the years to come. Grab some cake and celebrate with us!
- Vestry Elections are Today. If you are a member of Restoration, be sure to put in your vote and pray for our leaders in the vestry. Results will be posted on the blog by Wed, Nov 25.
- Waverly McNeil. Waverly passed away Nov 18. Her funeral service will be held on Sat, Dec 5 at 10am at McLean Bible Church’s Tysons campus in the Smith Center.
- Women at Restoration: looking for a way to connect beyond brief Sunday conversations? Sign up for one of the women’s gatherings in November! These are one-time events hosted in various homes with no agenda other than sharing food & conversation! Sign up via the Resto app or https://restorationarlington.org/ministries/restowomen/.
- Lead a Small Group? Would you like to lead a small group next trimester (January to March)? If so, Nathan would love to talk with you! If you are new to leading a small group, please contact him at nathan@restorationarlington.org. If you have led a group before, you can sign up at http://Restoration.formstack.com/forms/small_group_leaders
- Operation Christmas Child — If you have not already done so, return your boxes to the lower narthex today by five o’clock.
- Last Evensong Tonight. Think “campfire” prayer and singing with candles instead of a campfire – a time to learn to listen to the Holy Spirit and respond to him. 7-8pm. We will resume during Epiphany. Ask Matt (the music leader) or ask around.
- Healing Eucharist: We are broken people, restored by God’s grace, living out His story, and on Tues, Dec 1 at 7:30 we invite you to come and be further healed that you may live more fully for him.
- RestoMen continues Tues, Dec 8. The evening begins at 7pm with a catered, light supper. Bring $5 to help cover the cost. At 7:30 we start the conversation and end promptly at 9. We will be talking about simplicity as a discipline of intimacy with God.
- RestoArts Workshop: On Dec 12 at 1pm, Rachael Foster will help us re-see our world and ourselves through photography. Whether you have an iPhone or a high-end DSLR, you will benefit from Rachael’s skill and perspective on this craft. Come practice with her! 15 spots are open. https://Restoration.formstack.com/forms/photo
