Responding to God’s grace…
On Sunday, we kicked off our capital campaign. We believe that all of life is a response to God’s grace. He always moves first and then invites us to come with Him. God has been graciously building our church for three and a half years now. This building project is our faithful response to what He has been doing. I love that my life is lead and directed by the Creator of the universe who is never dull and never silent. Opportunities to respond abound.
So, if Restoration is your community, you are wondering about the response you are being invited to make. Here are some options:
- Use the 40 Day devotional guide. This resource is a great peek into what Restoration people are like. Forty of you have taken time to reflect on a passage of Scripture and wrestle with what God is saying to you– then you have courageously shared those reflections with us. Thank you! Many of you want to establish a habit of daily Bible reading. This resource is a great place to start. Download it or pick one up and start today.
- Sign for a small group and the fall retreat. Both of these will enable you to connect with other people who are trying to live life as a response to God’s grace. Small groups are the most universal experience at Restoration. If this is your community, this is what you’re doing.
- Attend an Info Gathering. This Sunday, folks will spill out of the 11am service and head to the Breed’s house – 4064 22nd Street N, Arlington, VA 22207 from 12:45pm – 2:30pm. There will be a shuttle running back and forth from church to the Breed’s for the majority of the event. A delicious LUNCH will be provided (not just snacks) and there will be childcare on-site. Restoration leaders will lay out the timeline of how we got to where we are today– including a vision for a new place for Restoration, and how to participate in the campaign. After-church parties at the Breeds are the stuff of legend. If you are new, please come hear our story. If you have a friend, bring them for an awesome meal.
I hope you see a chance to respond to God’s grace today. Those opportunities are all around us. See you soon.
