Who is Speaking?

Alex Kirk is the lead pastor at Chatham Community Church, a multi-site church just outside of Chapel Hill, NC. Prior to that he spent 16 years in campus ministry with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship. Alex graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill with a double major in English and Political Science and a minor in ultimate frisbee. He lives with his wife Kelly of 25 years, three teenage daughters, a son off at college, and the world’s greatest mutt, Buzz. He also loves football, college basketball, and all things Tar Heels.

What is our Topic?

Alex will be presenting at the retreat on Building a Resilient Core. He writes, “In a world that is more anxious and depressed than ever, wouldn’t it be great to be more resilient? Jesus declared that the truth would set us free. But our world is bound up in all sorts of lies about what makes us valuable, safe, or significant–and lies weaken us, trap us, diminish us. Join us as we build a more resilient inner world by breaking the power of lies and pressing into the truth that sets us free.”

What is the Cost of the Retreat?

  • Double Room in the Inn (shared w/another person) $185
  • Bunk-style Room in the Cottage (shared w/10-15 others) $110
