How do we listen to God?
Brother David Vryhof says that in order to pick out the sound of a flute from an orchestra, one must practice listening to a flute by itself. Once the flute becomes a familiar sound to a listener, it will no longer be hidden or lost amongst the other sounds of the orchestra. And so it is with listening to God. When we practice listening to the Lord’s voice in the quiet, we will more easily recognize that same voice in the busyness and noise of our daily lives.
Join us for a morning of quiet listening and reflection in our sanctuary. We will share in corporate worship and prayer, and then spend some time in quiet solitude (with a devotional guide Beth will provide), and then end together again. If listening is hard for you, come do it with others in your presence. It helps!
