In July and August, we’ll just have 2 services–at 9:30 and 11:15. Starting July 6, we will NOT have the 8 am. We’ll bring the 8 am back on September 7. For July and August, sleep in a bit, squeeze in to the pews at 9:30+11:15, and enjoy being together over 2 services!
Our Race and Reconciliation team is offering it’s Second Annual Summer Book + Movie Discussions with Dinner! You can get information and rsvp, here. Watch the movies and read the book ahead of time. Then show up for a fun dinner and a lively discussion with folks from Restoration. We want to be a church that celebrates the Revelation 7:9 diversity of the Body of Christ and that seeks to bring healing and justice from hurt and harm that has been done in our community because of people’s ethnicity and cultural heritage.
On Sunday, June 22, David Harsh and Matt Kern are hosting a potluck lunch at their home on N. Edison Street from 11:30 – 3 pm. Come worship at Resto and then head on over for a fun afternoon. If your last name starts with A-L, bring a dessert. If your last name starts with M-Z, bring a side. They’ll be grilling up burgers, hot dogs, chicken, and pork shoulder.
Mack and Ethan are hosting Apex small groups on six Wednesdays this summer: June 25, July 9, July 23, July 30, August 6, and August 13. Middle schoolers meet from 6-7 pm, and high schoolers meet from 7:15-9:00 pm.
On June 26 at 7 pm, we have a special event for college students: Reading the Bible Without Fear. It’s a great prep for all of the classes where the veracity or trustworthiness of the Scriptures might be challenged. If you know a college student, make sure they know about this event that is just for them.
We invite you to take a Summer Personal Retreat. Rev. Beth Tipps prepared a guide for you before she left on sabbatical and we have hard copies available in the upper narthex; click here for the virtual version. Set aside some time to be alone with God, to remember His faithfulness, to pray about your longings, and to experience His presence.
In July there’s a summer small group led by the newly ordained Rev. Addie Anderson. Get a copy of the book–The Simplest Way to Change the World: Biblical Hospitality as a Way of Life–and read the first three chapters before the first meeting on July 10.
Newcomer to Restoration? Join us for lunch after church on July 13.
