R+R Book and Movie Images Only-2

The Race+Reconciliation Team’s 2nd Annual Summer Book & Movie Discussions

The Race+Reconciliation Team at Restoration has chosen a book–American Dirt by Jeanine Cummins–and three movies–Cabrini (PG-13), The Swimmers (PG-13), and McFarland, USA (PG)–for our church to read, watch, and discuss together this summer. We’ll read or watch on our own and then gather in Resto members’ homes for an evening of dinner and discussion. Dinner will be provided free of charge and will be themed according to the book or movie being discussed that evening.

Who’s invited? The discussions are designed for everyone at Restoration who’s age 14 and older. High school students are encouraged to join in!

When are they happening? Dinner and discussion will take place from 7:00 – 9:00 pm on the dates below. Please click on the links to register for the discussions you plan to join:

Wednesday, June 25 – Cabrini
Wednesday, July 30 – The Swimmers
Wednesday, August 6 – American Dirt
Wednesday, August 20 – McFarland, USA

How many people? We’re limiting the discussion size to 20 people for each group. If we exceed 20, we’ll keep a waitlist and create additional groups as needed.

What’s next? Get yourself a copy of the book/audiobook and start reading/listening. Find the movies on your favorite streaming service and watch them. Register for a group (or all 4!) and come ready to discuss!

What if I can’t attend on a particular evening but still want to participate? We’re making the discussion guides available so that you can host a group at your own convenience. Guides are currently available for Cabrini, The Swimmers, and McFarland, USA.
